In Ascension, countless figures gather, digitally rendered in muted tones of taupe and white, their forms both distinct and unified. They stand before the ancient Wall, a dense mosaic of textured blocks that rise like accumulated centuries, like prayers pressed into stone.
But something is happening here. The solid begins to dissolve. The architecture fragments, becoming lighter, more ethereal as it climbs. What was stone becomes breath. What was weight becomes flight. The thick impasto breaks apart into delicate shards that scatter upward, prayers released from their earthly anchor.
The drips—like tears, like ink, like the very essence of longing—run downward even as the spirit of the piece moves up. It's the paradox of devotion: rooted in sorrow, reaching toward transcendence. The figures below remain tethered to earth, but their hopes, their whispers, their ancient yearnings rise and dissipate into the pale expanse above.
This is the moment of transformation—where the human becomes holy, where the finite touches infinity, where everything solid about faith learns to fly.
